ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Kaki. I am an artist based in Boston with strong southern roots. After growing up in Richmond, Virginia and going to college in North Carolina, I moved north. Recently married, my husband and I are enjoying building a little life together in New England.

I have always been an artist - it's in my blood. My paternal grandmother, Clarinda Jennison, was a talented artist. She had a studio at the old torpedo factory in Alexandria, Virginia, where she worked in watercolor and mixed media. Her style was whimsical - she experimented. I didn’t know her for long in life, but I’m getting to know her through her art more and more, and it’s clear she was a true artist at heart - free and utterly herself, as I hope to become one day. When I am painting, drawing, or creating in any way, I feel more connected to her and to my roots than ever.

I work mostly in watercolor, but am no stranger to branching out. If you like my work or have a commission request,  let me know! I’d love to hear from you - even if it’s just to say that one of my pieces made you smile.
